Increase in efficiency of coal mining by allmineral dry jigging technology
As water and other input costs rise and demand for coal decreases globally, there has never been greater urgency for improving efficiencies in the coal mining process. This should be carried out by allmineral’s allair® air jigging machines.
It eliminates the downside of product moisture in the wet processing of coal and virtually eradicates particle emissions due to inclusions of fabric dust collectors, it can remove much of the rock in the raw coal with little product loss and thereby reducing haulage costs, processing costs and the cost of waste disposal.
In May 2016, a central test hub was created in the Emalahleni area in South Africa with the objective of testing different types of coal using the allair® air jigging machine and to understand if coal feed to the allair® system can be upgraded to export and inland market requirements over and above the Eskom specifications. Meanwhile IMS has also compared the rand/ton/hour cot between a Dense Media Separation (DMS) plant and the allair® working on a 350 tph module. The excellent results confirm that the capex rand/ ton on the allair® is significantly more cost effective than on a DMS plant.
